A dreaded weekend

This weekend is not really gonna be one I’d like too much - even if it is going to be lucrative (many working hours @ around €8.45 an hour), and celebratory (F1 restarting and national holiday). Well actually, said national holiday is really a major cause of the dread.

It’s always that the rest of the world goes just that little bit too far on Paddy’s day. What I mean is, people feel that because it’s Paddy’s day, they need to drink a shitload more than normal. And all during the day, not just at night. And then they go on about how authentically Irish they are being. Well I’m fucking sick of it. Our national holiday is not a reason for you to go fucking overboard!

I’m just hoping that for one year, just one measly year, we will have a Paddy’s Day without incident ANYWHERE in the world.

Oh yea, and there’s also the fact that it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday - it wouldn’t be too bad if it wasn’t obvious in the ads until two fucking days ago. So yea, here’s to sneaking out of the house to work early enough on Sunday so I don’t have to face her with the lack of a gift until I get back in the evening.

Sheesh, I really need to start thinking about the positives of this weekend - mainly the fact that it’s the first F1 weekend of the new 07 season - I wonder what it’ll be like now Schumi is retired. And now will the season play out with Alonso gone to McLaren and Raikonnen to Ferrari……

Oh well, back to the doing f-all in front of a computer screen bar clicking and taking cash…..

WTF? €6.18 an hour?! Oh, I better be getting Monday’s pay in next week’s wages. Yes, that does sound right, cos 136/16 = €8.5, which is my current rate of pay……
