Arcade Rush

2 more rants down there!

To continue the recent topic of achievements, Gamerscore and general gaming - I figured I’d go on about the amount of Xbox Live Arcade games I play.

Well, it’s a shitload. In fact, according to MGC - 11 of the 28 Xbox 360 games I’ve played have been from the Arcade.
Yea, and they seem to be taking over my playtime, given their cheap cost, ease of Gamerscore (well most of them), and quick to play. Let’s take a more detailed look at my Arcade games, shall we?

  • Frogger - 60/200 - 4/12
Annoyingly accurate, miss the jump my a millimeter and it punishes you. Seems alright achievement wise, yet some of them will be annoying.
  • PAC-MAN - 170/200 - 11/12
Fun, fun, fun. Except when you get to the levels where the Power Pellets do nothing other than make the ghosts reverse. Easy achievements with the exception of the “Perfect” one. (Eat all ghosts 4 times in the same stage)
  • Geometry Wars - 10/200 - 1/12
Hard. Big time hard. Achievements are hard. Except Pacifism, which I got in 2 attempts.
  • Marble Blast - 115/200 - 9/12
Also annoyingly accurate and big-time shitty when it comes to some of the levels. Medium achievements - some easy, some fucking impossible unless you cheat.
  • Jetpac - 100/200 - 7/12
Fun game, achievements are also a mix - some are easy enough, but some are really hard and require a lot of gameplay.
  • Worms - 185/200 - 11/12
You should know what this is like. The best game ever to grace the Arcade. And easy points too - with the exception of Challenges which is impossible - at least until they release the update to dumb down to stupidly smart AI.
  • Hexic - 130/200 - 9/12
Well, everyone will have played this game before since it comes with every Premium 360. Achievements are alright, but unless you’re REALLY good at the game, don’t expect to get 200/200.
  • Outpost Kaloki - 155/200 - 10/12
Well I adore tycoon games, so I fell in love with this game as soon as I realized what it was! Achievements are good, although it might take some time to get the all Gold Medal ones.
  • Texas Hold ‘Em - 120/200 - 7/12
Who doesn’t love a few hands of Poker? And since it was free it’s even better! Achievements are good, but I need to work on them more.
  • UNO - 200/200 - 12/12
Too fucking easy. Got 200/200 in 3 hours. Never played it since. Especially with all the camera assholes you get on Live.
  • Bankshot Billiards - 170/200 - 10/12
It’s a great game, but the achievements need a lot of gameplay. Which I gave. But I still need to give more….

In the future, I plan to buy a few more games - but since I’m running out of good titles to buy, I might just save up for a full game! :D

I’ve spent way too much money on the Arcade. I am too impulsive when it comes to buying stuff like that.
