All I can say is – O…M…G…
It was so funny, yet I can’t understand why it took them 20 years to bring out just 1 movie, when Pokémon are out only 12 years and have had 10 movies!
Anyway, some of the highlights I feel should be mentioned:
- The Fox bottom-of-screen-scrolling bar advertising Fox shows – and mentioning “Yes, we even advertise in movies now”
- The fun part where Bart is skateboarding naked through town and his knob is censored all the way – until a bit where a bush censors everything BUT the bit where his knob is!
- The state that Springfield lies in is still not revealed even in the credits: “Filmed on location in Springfield, .”
- For those of you who are anal about the actors, they not only list every character that particular actor played in the TV-show style credits, but they also list each character and their respective actor next to it in the movie-style credits bit.
- The bit near the start where Homer mentions “Why did we pay just to watch something we could see on TV? Why are all you guys (pointing at those in the cinema in Springfield” at a movie when you can watch it at home for free! You are all chumps! Especially you! (points at screen, i.e. you!)”
- The fact that pig crap and polluted water makes mutating liquid * rushes off to create mutant animals *
And just to show you how funny it was – in it’s 80+ minutes, there were 65 outrageously funny bits, 132 really funny bits, 85 quite funny bits, and countless other types of funny bits. Yes, that’s a lot of funny!
Yea, the last week has been eventful. Especially Sunday, when I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
And before you ask, no I will not be telling you what happens in it, just like I’m refusing to tell my sister what happens in the Half-Blood Prince book cos she’s too lazy (and too young) to read it through.
Another thing that happened on Sunday was pigging out. And I mean in the sense when I actually ate until I really was full – and that’s a hard feat to do! After a lunch of roast beef and stuff from the carvery in Slevin’s back in Dunboyne (yummers, except Aoife had to eat half of it…), I was feeling quite hungry after the movie (although I had some Ben and Jerry’s – very expensive in there, 3 scoops for €5.50), so I went and got some Burger King (XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal with starwberry milkshake and a cookies and cream ice-cream). Yes, afterwards I WAS feeling quite full, which rarely ever happens. Maybe next time I’ll space out the meals, but then again I doubt I would have gotten any if the girls hadn’t had to go to Penneys to go shopping (it was open until 7pm, unlike the rest of the Centre).
