You’d think that if they were enabling online registration for the next year, they’d have given you back your results so you can know if you’re through to the next year or not.
Well, they haven’t.
Today, I log into my DCU portal, expecting to see results of the August repeat exams there, telling me if I passed the modules, and thus got through to second year. But they don’t.
On further inspection, I find that they won’t be giving out the results until September 11th, even though online registration is starting on Thursday, and the college year starts September 24th! Not really giving us much time to play with, are you?
Especially as they say in the guidelines for online registration “Students who have failed modules will not be able to register”. Right, but how are you going to stop those who have taken repeats and failed those from registering? Are you going to go by the first exams? And if you are, then aren’t you cutting 2 weeks off the registration time for students who HAVE passed 2nd time round?
They really need to get their priorities right, that stupid Registry…….
SURPRISED AT – The fact that when I went to check my bank balance I had a lot more than I expected. Wonder where it came from…..
PLAYING – Nothing at the moment, but that will all soon change, cos I’m not sitting at home for the next 4 weeks without a games console or computer to play on!
Recently, I’ve been thinking that Michigan is cursed. Why, you ask? Well it’s kind of a long-ish story…..
It all starts Sunday evening, around 7pm. I turn on the TV, and head over to Setanta Sports (Magnet: 105), expecting there to be the 3M Performance 400 from MIS on.
Then I find out that there is a rain delay, and eventually an hour later, that it has been postponed until Monday. I’m thinking “no biggie, I’ll watch it tomorrow night at midnight”.
Monday night at midnight – turn on the TV to Setanta – postponed due to ran yet again. Yea, that’s a little annoying, and the fact that they show the Busch race from Saturday isn’t much of a compromise. Alright, better tune in Tuesday.
Tuesday night at midnight – turn on the TV to Setanta – YES! We have some Nextel Cup coverage! But wait, what’s this little blue ticker at the bottom of the screen saying? “Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to bring you the full coverage of the 3M Performance 400. You are watching the highlights” – WTF?! 2 days of waiting for the race, and I’m only gonna get snippets? That’s BS…..
And the annoyance is compounded by the fact that I only found out this week, that I missed them racing at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (for those of you non-F1 fans, that means the Montreal road circuit) two weeks beforehand, and the fact that JPM (Montoya, Car 42) only finished in 26th which doesn’t help his campaign for getting into the Chase at all! ARGH!
WATCHING – A hell of a lot of alternatives to the Nextel Cup……
HOPING – JPM can pull off a miracle and get into the Chase
FIXING – A lot of Penny’s screw-ups with the CBTS forums
Recently it has come to mind how I can kinda feel like and act like a parent, even though I’m not.
Well, take my little sister for example. Since her dad doesn’t live in the house with us, I guess I’ve started to take on “fatherly” traits since most mornings and weekends, it’s just me and her in ront of the TV.
Recently, I’ve begun to notice a lot more occasions when I’m, in a way, “parenting” her – as Elaine puts it. Simple things like asking her to check that the dishwasher doesn’t have clean stuff inside before putting more stuff in, or making sure she cleans up here cereal after she eats it (she never does and it’s always gross when left out for hours), or even lecturing her on not eating 3 bowls of cereal in the morning.
Maybe I have begun to see her as less of a little sister, and more of a daughter – I don’t know if it’s the lack of her father, or the age gap, or just the fact I’m getting older and she seems younger….
It’s kind of the same with my cousing, Avy – although that might be more uncle-y than parent-y or cousin-y. Of course, I really should go back to teaching her how to Hoover effectively. Which is ironic, given I keep being told I don’t Hoover properly myself…..
Not that finding wrong babe matters – i mean he is stupid and wrong….
