Hardware failures FTL

Unfortunately, no more rants down there!

Self-explanatory title perhaps?

Anyway, I’m not talking about my personal computer, or my web host’s server. No, instead I’m talking about whatever server Hyperiums is hosted on. Since they had a failure on Sunday that caused a nice little 24-hour downtime

Whatever the issue was, it seems that DG’s (the “god” of the game) got it sorted and the game is back up and running - although ticks are still yet to start up again. However, it has made me wonder - where exactly is the game hosted? Is it a private server? Or is he using a dedicated hosting service - or even a shared hosting service? It’s one of those thing that made me wonder.

Because, if at the end of the day, he’s using a web host that can’t compare to Dreamhost - then I’d be *nudge nudging* him to try and convince him to sign up there. Referrals FTW. In more ways than just the fact that after enough referrals, I am considered a “Platinum Referrer” and get special perks

PS: I know I had planned to get some more Baby Bear pictures from the Dunboyne house, but I don’t think I’ll be able to get them this time - too much family-related stuff going on to worry about teddy bear pictures.

PPS: If I have the time soon, I may just try and start up an image/video/file hosting service, since I have so much space to spare. Either that, or I can somehow find the money to pay for a unique IP for my hosting, and instead just use anonymous FTP….
