The daily grind is back…
Starting in the morning, or rather in 10 hours time, is Semester 2 for me.
I was actually kinda surprised that we were back so early, I could have sworn that we had two weeks between the exams and the semester. Either way, no more staying up until 5am finding CoD4 intel, or racing in NASCAR 08 at Watkins Glen over and over starting from 21st and nailing them down the first corner to go to 5th.
The timetable this time round isn’t as bad as it could be, but it does have some annoying parts, that we hope to change. First is the Linear Algebra tutorial at 3pm on a Tuesday. The reason that’s bad is that (I think) second-years are busy being lab tutors to the first years from 2-4pm every Tuesday and Thursday. So that will have to change or there will probably only be a few people in it.
Wednesday has an annoying bit with Object Oriented Design at 1pm. Annoying mainly as it could take place at 12 instead, and also a lot of clubs and socs stuff starts at 2. And since some people in the class need to set stuff up for those events - well, in short: Gav will almost certainly be hurrying out of the lecture to get to the equipment room and haul it to whatever place we’re in that week
Oh, and Friday is really pissing me off. About 2 weeks ago, when I first peeked at the timetable, Fridays were free with the exception of a Databases lab from 4-6pm. Thus, since it’s the only thing we have, it’s very likely it’s moveable. Now we have the Object Oriented Design lab on Fridays as well from 12-1pm. Which means that to have our Fridays free again, we need to move two lab sessions. And given how the labs don’t have very much availability, I think we’re screwed.
We’ll have to see about all those though. Given how much it changed from 2 weeks ago, it’ll probably change several times again before the first week is through. Hopefully, for the better
I’m not sure what everything’s like for the room-mates. Although I think one or two of them have been here for a few days, I haven’t seen anyone. Mainly as I was in my room all the time either on the computer or the console, and I only went out for food from the kitchen or from the shop. I was in the main room for a bit on Saturday, but no-one else was around though
Anyway, there’s ten and a half hours left until my first lecture of the second semester, which is Intro to Operating Systems. Woo(!). I wonder how much Linux we’re going to have to use…
/me does not like Linux, as Linux is not gamer-friendly.
