Why do things always taste nicer when they’re toasted or roasted…?

 

Seriously? It’s like why are Subway subs always nicer when you get them toasted, despite them charging an extra 20c for it (except in Westmoreland St. – epic win there). And why are chicken and turkey nicer when roasted?

 

I’ve had nothing else really to post lately… *sweatdrop*

    When things get toasted they undergo a process called caramelization. Basically the heat causes all the molecules to get really happy. The happy molecules reward you with the increased flavor. As long as you don’t keep them in the heat too long… then they get rather angry.
