Sinéad recently gave her answer to the question "Are blogs borking the web?". Let me know!

Sinéad recently gave her answer to the question “Are blogs borking the web?”. It made me wonder about accessibility and the like, and so this is where the loyal readership (if it exists!) comes in!

Regarding Sinéad’s post, there are a lot of good arguments and points made, but in my eyes it’s all down to the person in charge of it, and whether they are a blogger who blogs for an auidence, or one who blogs because they realise they can say their crap on the net and people can read it if they want to.

I myself feel that I have made a lot of effort to make my site accessible to the masses. The handy navbar up top, which expands out a sub-menu if the context calls for it, is always available and easily found at the top. For the “most used” submenu, the blog submenu, there’s a link to a general archive page, as well as menus to filter down your options as to what rants you wish to see.

Now, while to me it looks like everything you may need to find what you’re looking for, ultimately I can’t say that. This is where any readership I have comes in. Feel free to comment away on my site’s accessibility. Whether it be praise, hate, nasty remarks, or just a comment where every word is an obscenity, I want to hear it. So, go nuts. With the exception of spambots, where you will likely be caught up by Akismet, or be moderated out by myself.

Which also brings me onto a further 2 points:

With all the news that Automattic acquired the Irish-based PollDaddy, I was tempted to embed a poll here. But I’m too lazy to bother creating an account, so that won’t happen.

Given how, in my eyes, strict I am on my commenting policy, I may consider installing a dofollow plugin. Meaning, the links in your comments will be assessed for PageRank etc.

PS: This is about accessibility, not design. I don’t give a damn about your thoughts on my greyscale colour scheme. I like it. It’s minimalistic, easy to manage, and it means I don’t have to deal with problems finding a set of colours that work well together. I like my hex values to have all the same characters
