Impersonation
Back at around this time last year, blogging for me was a completely different matter. There was a lot less thought put into posts, topics were often more random and sometimes even more controversial, and the audience was a lot different as well! It had it’s ups and downs, but there has been one particular downside that is still affecting me a bit to this day.

300 page-views in 3 hours, all happening within 3 seconds of each other, from the same IP from two different user-agents? Alright, something is up here - let’s block it as a precaution…

The nightmare is over…
When I first signed up with Dreamhost, after being told about them by Adam and how you could get $110.10 off the cost of a hosting package, I didn’t see any issues popping up. 2 months later, and I now know they are really NightmareHost…

Time to look for another web host?
Dreamhost have mistakenly charged thousands of customers for web hosting, sometimes for 3 years worth, that doesn’t even need renewing. I’m not affected, but is it worth risking it possibly happening to me in the future?

Yet another new web host…..
Yea, it’s only been about a month or two since I ditched Bravenet and signed up with GoDaddy - but I’ve already switched off from them. But I think I’ve definitely found a kick-ass host - DreamHost.
